SUCCESSFULLY CLOSES THE FIRST DAY OF THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN PARAGUAY
The I National Conference of Innova in Paraguay took place from 08:00 to 13:30 on Monday, August 29, 2022, the event began with a warm welcome and the presentation of Paraguayan dances, by the cast of Adults Majors of the National University of the East (UNE).
The Rector of the UNE, Dr. Osvaldo Caballero Acosta, gave the words of welcome to those present, at the time of emphasizing that, for the house of higher studies under his charge, it is an immense satisfaction to host such an important academic event, which brings together professionals, research experts, authorities from different higher education institutions, authorities from the Ministries of Education of Bolivia and Paraguay, panelists from the University of Alicante and the University of Portucalense, who are partners of the INNOVA project, which seeks to improve the management of research with a specific focus on climate change.
The official opening of the I National Conference of the INNOVA Project in Paraguay was led by the Rector of the University of San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca, Bolivia (USFX), Dr. Sergio Milton Padilla Cortez. He stressed that it was a great challenge for the university he represents, the fact of projecting research in the processes of academic transformation that must be developed by the different universities.
The presentations given on the first day of the INNOVA National Conference in Paraguay addressed the following topics:
- Presentation of results of the INNOVA Project, Jorge Fuentes General Coordinator INNOVA Project San Francisco Xavier University of Chuquisaca (Bolivia).
- Foresight in the design of research framework programs of the European Union, Dr. Enric Bas Professor University of Alicante (Spain).
- Educational policies in Europe and their impact on curriculum development with a focus on I+D: the Bologna process, Dr. Jorge Marques, Professor at Universidad Portucalense (Portugal).
- Public policies for adaptation to climate change and research topics for the academy, Eng. Silvana Peralta/Abg.Stephanie Petta, National Directorate of Climate Change-Paraguay/MADES.
- Climate change research networks, Dr. Helena Albuquerque Professor, Universidad Portucalense (Portugal).
- The Efficient Use of Energy and its Impact on the Environment, Dr. Carlos Manuel Cardozo Florentín, Universidad Nacional del Este.
- Research Financed by CONACYT Paraguay on Climate Change, Ing Amb. Liliane Noguera, Coordinator of the Scientific Research Promotion Component of the CONACYT Prociencia Program.
- Evaluation of virtual machine positioning optimization algorithms for Green Cloud Computing, Ing. MSc. Osvaldo González Prieto, National University of the East
The local participation of authorities stood out in the event, among them authorities of the different academic units of the UNE, Rectors of the National University of Asunción (UNA), National University of Pilar (UNP), National University of Canindeyú (UNICAN), University National University of Caaguazú (UNCA) and National University of Concepción (UNC).
It should be remembered that the INNOVA project is an initiative developed by 11 higher education institutions from the countries of Paraguay, Bolivia, Spain and Portugal, with the support of the ERASMUS+ Program of the European Union (EU).
