The latest IPCC report about Climate Change: What we need to know

In August of this year, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) published its latest report on climate change. Showing alarming results for humanity, in which changes are evident in all regions of the planet. 

Sea levels continue to rise and a reduction in CO2 and other greenhouse gases could allow air quality to improve rapidly, but there is already damage that despite a possible improvement in air quality, it would take 20 to 30 years for the earth to stabilize temperatures. 

Human activity is responsible for the increase of 1.1 degrees Celsius. The sea level in Latin America has risen the most and is one of the regions that will be most affected by these effects, however, all regions will be impacted by the climatic phenomena that will be happening in these times, there will be more and more floods, droughts and changes in the dryness and humidity of our environment.

"The report's projections indicate that in the coming decades climate change will increase in all regions. According to the report, with a global warming of 1.5 °C, there will be an increase in heat waves, longer hot seasons and shorter cold seasons; while with a global warming of 2 °C, extreme heat events would more frequently reach critical tolerance thresholds for agriculture and health" (IPCC 2021 press release). 

It is the obligation of the authorities to be able to take action on what is happening in the world and create policies, educate and investigate to reduce gas emissions because changes that will arise will be felt in all countries and there will be no area less affected. 

Citizens must demand that the authorities take action on the matter and also be able to begin to change the ways of acting and consuming by developing an environmental consciousness to reduce temperature increases and all the effects of climate change in the future.
